About this engine
The 3.0-litre F1C engine (2,998 cm³) with a timing chain. It is fitted to older Iveco Daily vans as the 3.0 HPI, to the Fiat Ducato of the 250 generation as the 3.0 Multijet, and to the Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer as the 3.0 HDi.
It suits vans that regularly carry the full payload or tow a trailer.
What workshops ask. What a new engine fixes after a failure: the short block is a new cylinder block with crankshaft, conrods and pistons, and the long block adds the cylinder head. Neither includes the turbo or injectors; the workshop moves them over from the old engine, so the cause of the failure has to be fixed before fitting. In the Fiat Ducato the 3.0 diesel was sold until 2016, when the 180 hp 2.3 replaced it. An engine of a different type changes the vehicle's displacement and power, so we supply the same type the vehicle has.
