The most widely used engine line in the modern Sprinter - Mercedes introduced it in 2009 to replace the older OM 646 and still produces it today (in evolved form for the VS30). Bosch common rail with chain timing, a water-cooled intercooler and an AdBlue SCR system on Euro 6 versions. A reliable choice for daily fleet duty.

The V6 top-spec version for the Sprinter 519 / 519 BlueTEC and heavy haulage vehicles. Aluminium block, two turbos in a sequential configuration and consistently high torque from low rpm. Suitable for courier fleets towing trailers or operations with heavy payloads.

Garrett / IHI turbo

VNT turbo for the OM 651 (Garrett GTB1749), sequential twin-turbo (Garrett + IHI) for the V6 OM 642. Including electric actuator and gaskets.

Bosch / Delphi injectors

Bosch CRI3 common-rail injectors for the OM 651, Delphi piezo injectors for the V6 OM 642. Supplied with coding data for IMA programming.

High-pressure pump

Bosch CP4.1 for the OM 651, CP3 for the older OM 646 and the V6 OM 642. On the OM 651 the pump is a known weak spot - we recommend replacing the filtration alongside it.

Timing

Both the OM 651 and OM 642 use chain timing (200,000+ km interval). We supply complete kits including tensioners, guide rails and rear-of-engine seals.

Cylinder head

Fully assembled 2.1 CDI and 3.0 V6 heads including valves, guides and gaskets. A solution for engine overheating or a cracked original head.

Clutch and flywheel

Three-piece clutch kits and dual-mass flywheels for both the 6-speed manual and the 7G-Tronic / 9G-Tronic automatic. Genuine Sachs / LuK.
