About this engine

The 2.2 HDi Euro 5 engine with 2,198 cm³, the Ford Duratorq “Puma” (PSA P22DTE). In the 2011–2016 Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer it is the 2.2 HDi 110, 130 and 150.

It differs from the 2006–2011 Euro 4 version in emission standard and power. The codes 4HH and 4H03 are also given for the 2.2 BlueHDi (PSA DW12RU, 2019–2023), so we check the engine by VIN before confirming.

What workshops ask. Injectors are a recurring issue on the “Puma” engine. In 2015 Peugeot recalled Boxer 2.2 HDi vans built from September 2014 to January 2015 because an internal injector component might have been assembled incorrectly; the Citroën Jumper had the same problem. Neither the long block nor the short block includes the injectors or turbo; the workshop moves them over from the old engine, so their condition needs checking before fitting.
